Tartu county, Estonia’s official Culinary Region for 2025, invites you to explore the countryside during the Open Farm Days on 12–13 July. This weekend, hundreds of farms across Estonia will open their gates to visitors. In Tartu county alone, 33 farms and agricultural enterprises are ready to welcome you – each one unique and full of discoveries.

Open Farm Days offer a wonderful chance to peek into everyday rural life and meet the locals behind the region’s food and traditions. You can meet farm animals and birds, explore farming equipment, join guided tours and workshops – and of course, enjoy authentic local food from Tartu county.

In honor of its Culinary Region title, many farms are highlighting local ingredients and regional flavors. You’ll be able to taste delicious farm products, seasonal berries, fruits, and vegetables. Some farms will offer cheese, yogurt, or homemade gelato made from their own milk. You’ll also find handcrafted drinks, honey, quail eggs, preserves, baked goods, and many other tempting treats. Many farms will have cafés and sales counters featuring local products — there’s so much to taste and explore in Tartu county!

In addition to culinary delights, the weekend offers the joy of spending time in nature and experiencing the rhythms of country life. Many farms also offer cultural programmes to make your visit even more enjoyable and memorable.
