On 27–28 November, the conference „Climate Compass 2025: The Art of Adaptation in the Light of Science” will take place in Tartu, marking 160 years since the beginning of meaningful weather observations in Estonia. The event will bring together researchers, decision-makers, practitioners and climate enthusiasts to discuss the causes and impact of climate change and the ways of adapting to it. Participants share the latest scientific insights and discuss the needs for future development.
The first day of the conference, which focuses on the global picture of climate change, will be in English. Topics presented by several world-renowned researchers will range from the causes and current state of climate change to sustainable solutions that can help societies adapt to ongoing changes.
The second day of the conference, which will be in Estonian, will focus on Estonia’s needs in adapting to climate change. The discussions will touch upon the societal impact and ways of coping with crises, offer sustainable solutions for spatial planning, and explore the history of climate research in Estonia.
The programme of the conference will be published on 27 October.
