Tartu summer tours: Discover Tartu with a local guide

This summer, regular guided tours are once again taking place in Tartu, inviting both visitors and locals to discover the city from a new perspective.

The summer walking tours run every Saturday from June to August. The tour in Estonian starts at 12 PM, and the tour in English starts at 2 PM. All tours begin at the information point next to Tartu Town Hall and last approximately one hour.

Each tour is slightly different, as the content and focus of the walk depend on the guide’s own perspective, knowledge and favourite stories. One tour may focus more on Tartu’s history and architecture, while another may highlight the spirit of the university town and the stories that make Tartu what it is.

A guided tour is a great choice both for those visiting Tartu for the first time and for those who think they already know the city well. The stories shared by a local guide help visitors see familiar places from a new angle and offer a meaningful way to spend a summer Saturday at a relaxed pace and in the fresh air.

A ticket for the tour costs €5.50 and can be purchased on Fienta before the tour.

Tours take place in all weather conditions. Please check the weather forecast before coming and dress accordingly.

Summer walking tours are organized by the Tartu Guides Association, Visit Tartu helps with communication and marketing.
