Tartu Art Museum

Tartu Art Museum offers exciting encounters with art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum builds bridges between the past and the present and speaks to modern people about today's important topics. We also offer guided tours, virtual tours, and art-related workshops. The museum was founded in 1940 to collect, preserve, and introduce the public to contemporary art.

Tartu Art Museum is located on the Town Hall Square in a building built in 1793, whose 5.8-degree slope — caused by the marshy banks of the Emajõgi River — makes it even more crooked than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
