Street Art Gallery under the Arch Bridge
As you walk under Kaarsild (the Arch Bridge), it’s worth pausing for a moment. Here, on the concrete vaults of the bridge, two very different yet characteristically Tartu street artists meet – Kairo and Edward von Lõngus. Their works are more than just murals; they tell stories connected to life, the city, and history.
Kairo, whose real name is Kairi Kliimand (b. 1986), is a Tartu-based street artist whose work is often born directly from life – with a baby in a stroller and a paintbrush in hand. She is a self-taught naïvist who began her artistic journey by chance, buying gouache and paper instead of lunch on a September 1st.
