Natural-snow ski trails are open across Tartu

In addition to Tähtvere Sports Park, cross-country ski trails with natural snow have reopened in Tartu and are free for all skiing enthusiasts to use. The trails have been prepared with equipment in the Tähtvere Recreation Park area, in the Ihaste oak grove, around Anne Canal, and on the Maarjamõisa field.

Trail maintenance and quality depend on snow conditions and the weather. “Although the ground is covered with a soft layer of snow, it is still quite thin. When the tracks are packed, soil, grass clumps, and molehills can appear on the base of the trail. This means we cannot yet guarantee high-quality skiing conditions, so we recommend taking this into account when heading out and choosing your skis,” said Head of Sports Services Veljo Lamp.

Winter fun in Tartu is also offered by the ice rinks at Town Hall Square, Tamme Stadium, and the Tartu Song Festival Grounds.
