The colourful Tartu Window on Town Hall Square has undergone a major refurbishment and now boasts a brand-new look. Formerly painted yellow and pink, the landmark has been redesigned in Tartu Red, using the city’s core visual identity colours and pattern elements.
At the end of June, the installation underwent a thorough renovation. The welding seams and surface cracks were inspected and repaired, and a worn metal sleeve connecting the structure to its underground base was partially replaced.
The technical inspection and repair work was carried out by Aleksander Jakubelovits from Blueflame Solutions OÜ, a company holding the necessary international certification. Painting and overall project coordination were overseen by Cristofer Jostov from HMM Paintwork OÜ, while Reklaamikompanii was responsible for producing the design elements. Transport and logistics were supported by Vestenmix OÜ.
Measuring 3 metres wide and 4.3 metres high, the Tartu Window has stood on Town Hall Square since 2013. The original yellow window was installed as part of the project “Life on the Edge of Two Worlds”, created in cooperation with National Geographic to showcase the sights of South Estonia. In the future, other South Estonian windows will also receive a refreshed concept, which will include relocation and repainting.
