Oma mitmekülgsuse ja elava atmosfääriga võlub Tartu igaüht. Olgu selleks kirglik kultuurihuviline, seiklushimuline spordifänn või hoopis diginomaad. Kõik nad hindavad suurepäraseid maitseelamusi ja head teenindust. Tartu ja Lõuna-Eesti kostitavad sind põnevate tegevuste ja elamustega, olenemata sellest, kas reisid üksi, sõprade või perega. Siin ootavad ainulaadsed kultuurikogemused, rahvusvahelised sündmused ja võrratu loodus, mis kõik pakuvad uusi võimalusi piirkonda inspireerival ja meeldejääval viisil avastada.
Tartus on natuke kõike
Siit leiab natukene vanalinna, kõrghooneid, puidust linnaosasid, varemeid ja iga nurga peal ka natuke tänavakunsti. Lisaks mõnusaid jõekaldaid, natukene rohkem parke kui linnades tavaliselt ja natuke liiga lahedat atmosfääri vanades tööstuskvartalites. Ja nii on see olnud juba mõnda aega – vähemasti 1632. aastast, mil siia ülikoole rajama hakati. Päeval valitseb linnas maailmatasemel teadus ja õhtuti vastapandamatu melu.
Tartu on kestlik ja kompaktne
Tartus on kõik nagu peo peal. 15 minutiga jõuad igale poole – kas jalgsi või siis hoopis meie populaarsete jalgratastega. Nutikas rattaringlus ja uued rattateed, rohegaasil sõitvad bussid ja ainult taastuvenergia kasutamine linnaasutustes on alles esimesed sammud Tartu plaanis saada täielikult kliimaneutraalseks linnaks. Lisaks osaleb Tartu roheliste sihtkohtade programmis, mis tunnustas Tartu plaatinataseme vääriliseks sihtkohaks.
Kohtumispaik järgmisele sündmusele?
Tartus on ligi 3000 voodikohta külalistele erinevates majutusasutustes ja mitmekülgsed ruumid nii väikeste kui ka suuremate ürituste jaoks. Korralda oma sündmus teatri- ja kontserdisaalides, ülikooli aulades, muuseumides või suisa keset Raekoja platsi. Loomulikult oskame seda kõike ka virtuaalselt ja hübriidselt korraldada.
Kuidas Tartusse tulla?
Meile meeldivad külalised kohapeal palju rohkem. Just seetõttu pingutasime kõvasti, et olla 2024. aastal Euroopa kultuuripealinn, kuhu on lihtne ja mugav tulla. Alla ühe tunni lennukiga Helsingist, kümneid kordi päevas bussi või rongiga Tallinnast või hoopis bussiga otse Riiast. Kohapeal on liikumisel abiks rattaringlus ja ühistransport.
Mida Tartus teha?
Kõige suurem mure, mis külalisi vaevab, on hoopis see, et siit on raske lahkuda – teha on õige palju. Seda nii Tartus kui ka terves Lõuna-Eestis: tervisesport, kultuurielu, ajalooline vanalinn, imeline loodus, muuseumid ja teemapargid, mängumaad ja ostukeskused, maailmatasemel toiduelamused, kesklinna vaatega spaa ja palju muud.

❄️💙 No matter if you’re more of an outdoorsy or an indoorsy person, winter in Tartu is the kind of winter you actually enjoy.
You can skate on ice in Town Hall Square, out in nature across the county, or even inside the biggest shopping centre in South Estonia. There’s sledding and tubing in the hilly landscape, and skiing on the legendary Tartu Maraton track or on the many trails around the area. And that’s just the start. There are plenty of other winter activities to discover too 🤩
Everything feels close. The air is fresh and getting around is easy.
☕🧖♀️ When the cold starts to sneak in, warm options are always nearby. A sauna, a spa, a hot drink in a cosy café. You can fit it all into one day if you like. But let’s be honest, winter in Tartu city and county deserves more than just a quick visit 🙌

Getting to Tartu is honestly easy.
You can hop on a bus or a train from Tallinn. About 2.5 hours and you are here. Simple as that.
Flying works too: come via Helsinki straight to Tartu airport. Or take the train from Riga or Vilnius if that suits you better.
💛 Once you arrive, you can slow down a little. The city is compact and great for walking. Smart bikes are easy to rent all around town and perfect for short rides. If you prefer, there are also cars for rent and taxis available. City and county buses run smoothly too, and paying by card is no problem.
You can also ride along the Emajõgi by boat and see the city from the water. The river carries you further out into the county as well.
ℹ️ If you want travel tips or a good old paper map, drop by the tourist information centre at the Town Hall. Free maps and advice from friendly locals await you there.
