On 14 July at 18:00, audiences in Tartu will have a unique opportunity to enjoy a free concert by the Swiss choir Der Freye Chor, presenting a diverse and inspiring programme.

Der Freye Chor brings together talented and experienced singers who realise ambitious musical projects each year in collaboration with professional musicians and orchestras. Over the years, the choir has performed major classical works, including Joseph Haydn’s The Creation (Die Schöpfung), The Seasons (Die Jahreszeiten), and Psalm 42 by Felix Mendelssohn.

Since 2014, the choir has been led by conductor and singer Markus J. Frey, an accomplished musician with extensive concert experience who works actively with both concert and church choirs in Switzerland. His artistic vision and professionalism have helped shape high-quality musical projects that resonate with both performers and audiences.

The concert at St. Paul’s Church will feature music from a variety of European traditions, ranging from sacred choral masterpieces to works inspired by Switzerland, Scandinavia, England, Ireland and Namibia. The programme includes compositions by Arvo Pärt, Karl Jenkins, John Rutter and other renowned composers.

Admission is free.
