The gates of Tartu are open to visitors at any time. However, it is worth heading to Tartu exaclty right now, as in February, the city becomes a paradise of flavours. The restaurant month, Tasty Tartu, brings diverse flavours, creative cooking and a fun atmosphere to the city. This year, 22 restaurants will offer a you a taste sensation, presenting carefully created three-course special menus for reasonable prices.
Why spend your February in Tartu?
1. The wintery university town nourishes both your body and soul. Spend your time skating in the Town Hall Square, broaden your horizon in the numerous museums, recharge yourself in cosy cafés or exciting restaurants – Tartu has something for everyone.
2. Your taste buds deserve a treat. Participants in the Tasty Tartu Restaurant Month include both well-loved old favourites and bright newcomers. For example, last year’s Public Favourite was awarded to TOKO, a first-time participant. At Tasty Tartu, every visitor will find something to satisfy their taste buds.
3. A visit to a restaurant is an experience. Dining in a top-class restaurant is usually a big expense, as the main course alone can cost more than several tens of euros. Tasty Tartu is all about giving as many people as possible the chance to experience high-end food and service, which is why all three-course specials in 22 restaurants in February range from 33 to 37 euros.

4. High level special menus. Participants in Tasty Tartu are selected from restaurants with menus that have received a high level of feedback and approval from both chefs, nutritionists and trainers. Therefore the visitors can rest assured that the dining experiences they are about to enjoy are nuanced, memorable and delicious, all at once.
5. Food simply tastes better in Tartu. The City of Tartu is Estonia’s best therapist, who will recharge your batteries with a stroll along the Emajõgi River, feed you delicious food in a cosy café somewhere and then send you off to a nice concert to clear your head. Also in February. Or Tuesdays.
