Knorring Manor House, recently fully renovated, won Tartu’s 2023 Tourism Act of the Year award. The honour was presented on October 10th at a gala held at the Athena Centre, where Tartu’s other leading entrepreneurs were also recognised.

Knorring Manor House has provided Tartu with a remarkable venue, ideal for hosting a wide range of events, conferences, and gatherings. With its captivating interior and architectural charm, rich in historical and cultural significance, this gem attracts people from near and far, further strengthening Tartu’s reputation as a conference destination.

To qualify, the activities or improvements made in 2023 had to meet at least three of the following conditions: making a big economic impact in tourism, serving a niche or under-represented market, working well with businesses and development organisations, having great product and service design, running effective marketing campaigns locally or internationally, and setting goals and plans to reduce environmental impact.

Entrepreneurs based in Tartu or with a main business location there could enter the competition. While they had to be active in Tartu, important county-level achievements were also considered. The Tartu County Tourism Foundation chose the top tourism act of 2023.

The City of Tartu has been organising a competition for its most successful entrepreneurs since 1998. The Tourism Act category was added to the business awards in 2016, and this year it is being presented for the eighth time. Last year’s award went to the SOHO Hotel.
