The first Tartu Art Week of 2025 is here!
The Tartu Art Week, a series of events that unites all of Tartu’s art institutions, is starting its second season. This year, each month the focus will be on a different Tartu art institution, which will introduce the backrooms, employees and history of its institution.
The first Tartu Art Week of 2025 will take place from 6 to 12 January, and the first focus will be on Tartu Art House. Tartu Art House is a building located at Vanemuine 26 on the corner of Vanemuine and Akadeemia streets, which houses the Tartu Artists’ Union, exhibition spaces and a salon selling art supplies. Exhibitions have been taking place in the building since 1959.
The Tartu Art House is currently hosting the Tartu Art Annual Exhibition, which is the most anticipated and most visited exhibition of the year. In addition to the exhibition at the Art House and the events taking place there, it is also possible to take part in the opening of exhibitions at Jakobi Gallery and Gallery Pallas, the exhibition tour of Tartu Art Museum and visit numerous exhibitions in other art galleries.
During the week, various content creations will be published on the social media channels of Tartu Art House and Tartu Art Week, the aim of which is to introduce the viewer to what Tartu Art House does and what happens in the house every day in addition to exhibitions.
Tartu Art Week takes place every second week of the month. All events of the art week are free or with a museum ticket. The art week is accompanied by a new Tartu art map, which is available in every art institution in Tartu.
