Personal snowshoe hike in Laeva swamp in the Alam-Pedja Nature Reserve

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating

Alam-Pedja is one of the largest nature reserves in Estonia, covering large swamps and the estuaries of the Pedja and Põltsamaa rivers. We will use snowshoes to hike in the swamp near the Selli–Sillaotsa hiking trail, explore different types of swamps, and the diverse local biota. We will also discuss the past, present, and future of bogs. Then, we will enjoy the view from the observation tower on the edge of the bog. Depending on the season, we can pick blueberries, cloudberries, and cranberries. Please note: the hike starts and ends in Tartu, transport is included in the price.
