    Promotional materials

The Tartu County Tourism Foundation compiles a number of tourism and place marketing materials that can be used for events organised in Tartu as well as displayed in your own business and establishment. For all of the main target markets, general publications introducing the city and county of Tartu have been produced, providing a good overview of history, culture, nature as well as major attractions and other recreational opportunities. The publications can be acquired in Estonian, English, Latvian, Finnish, Russian and German. In connection with the international Hanseatic Days taking place in different countries, the general publications have also been translated into other languages, such as Norwegian and Dutch. The city’s main accommodation establishments are organised into one place by the city map where, in addition to accommodation, major sights and museums are highlighted. The brochure “Tartu – the City and Beyond” is of great assistance when introducing the county’s tourist attractions as well as accommodation, and is available in Estonian, English and Russian.

In addition to publications compiled by the Foundation, Tartu also has other promotional and information publications, of which the newest is “Tartu Tähestik” (“The Mystery of Tartu”) by Valdur Mikita. While exploring the city centre, the walking tour maps are of great help – it is possible to set out on four different tours of the heart of the city, each focusing on a specific theme. The Department of Culture annually issues the publication “What Takes Place in Tartu”, introducing the most important cultural events, and the Department of Entrepreneurship has excellent English-language material on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Tartu is involved in several international tourism projects which have given rise to the creation of a wide range of tourism materials and information mediums. Important co-operation projects in the field of tourism are Via Hanseatica, Riverways, Living on the Edge (yellow frames), Livonian Culinary Route, and many more. In addition to the physical maps and promotional publications produced within the scope of the projects, a number of interesting applications have been created that make obtaining information easier.

You can familiarise yourself with the materials in paper form at the Tartu Visitor Centre. In order to acquire larger quantities, it is necessary to contact our information specialists. A fee may be charged for larger quantities.
